Interview Skills for Leaders

Successful recruitment can be defined as; 'getting the right person, in the right place, at the right time'. Sounds great doesn't it? It can also be difficult to get 'right'. 

The recruitment process is a candidates first glimpse of how we work as a business, making it important to make a good first impression, ensuring a positive candidate experience and further building your companies reputation as great place to work and a good place to invest your career. Up-skilling recruiting managers from across the business will be paramount to your companies continued success and growth. 

This one day workshop will look to help you to build the necessary skills to make confident recruitment decisions, whilst building the reputation of your companies brand as an employer with integrity and a passion for people, from the first interaction through to a fulfilling career. 

During the workshop we will visit upon recruitment processes, tools and ways of working, as well as  brand values, ensuring that you recruit people that are a fit for today and for your companies exciting future. 

This will include looking at how we go about attracting applicants and how you can help to influence this, as well as how to short list candidates before preparing for the interview itself. 

When it comes to preparing for the interview, we will prepare competency based questions aligned to the values of your company and importantly focus on how to elicit quality answers, enabling you to get the best from your candidate. We will have the opportunity to practice and refine these skills throughout the workshop using examples and scenarios. 

We will also be looking at how you sell the opportunity and close the interview, to ensure that any offers made are accepted and protect your companies reputation in the market place. 

This will be an interactive day of sharing best practice, bringing a consistent and value driven approach to recruitment, giving you the opportunity to learn or refresh the essential skills to build successful teams through effective recruitment.

  • How to ask insightful competency based questions, along with how and where to probe for information and an understanding of your role to bring out the best in your candidate

  • Scoring candidates using objective metrics in order to inform your decision

  • Learn from best practice examples how to use the interview process to create meaningful, compelling and enduring relationships.
